Bookable sessions include:

  • Learn to ride session (5 years+)

Our Learn to Ride sessions are fantastic for children who want to start to learn how to ride a bike and are equally invaluable for parents who are invested in their kids’ knowing how to ride safely. These classes are modelled around  Bike Ability Level 1 and aim to introduce basic bike skills so kids leave feeling that bit more confident in cycling.

  • Get back on your bike (adult refresher)

Our Get Back on Your Bike workshops are designed to give adults, who are either new to cycling or have not cycled in a long time, the opportunity to refresh their bike skills and knowledge so they can get back on their bikes. Most importantly, the class will help you to build your confidence in cycling.

  • Adult ride-along (confidence booster ride)

Are you someone that is always promising yourself you’ll get back on your bike eventually? Maybe tomorrow after work, or next week if it’s sunny? If you need that extra push, the adult-ride-along events promise to be just the thing for you. Aimed at adults, the sessions include relaxed group rides around the local area, led by an instructor.  Sessions start with a safety induction and last for a maximum of 2hrs.

  • Family fun cycle

What’s more fun than taking in the beautiful North East surroundings on a relaxed family cycle? Our Family Fun Cycles are aimed at children and families and involve range of instructor-led activities at the event location, or if possible, a short leisurely ride around the local area on a traffic free cycle route.  Sessions start with a safety induction and last for a maximum of 2hrs.

  • Bike maintenance 101 (interactive workshop)

Come along to a Bike Maintenance 101 workshop and get hands-on as you learn how to fix common bike problems that you might encounter on a ride (with guidance, of course!) You’ll come away with useable maintenance skills that you can carry on into life.

Drop-in sessions include:

  • Try a bike sessions

Our Try a Bike sessions provide a brilliant opportunity to try out a range of different bicycles in a no-pressure, relaxed environment. Those who are new to cycling or haven’t cycled in a long time will have the opportunity to try electric bikes. We can also provide Pino/ Tandem bikes and assisted tricycles for those with a disability; as well as Family Babboe cargo bikes, baby trailers tandems and balance bikes for family rides. There really is something for everyone.

  • Dr Bike health checks

Bring your bike along to a Bike Health Check drop-in session and have a qualified cycling mechanic check to ensure it is safe and roadworthy- all for free!  The mechanic will also carry out any minor repairs to gears, brakes, chains, tyres if required.

  • Bike maintenance 101 (interactive workshop)

Description as above

  • Get into gear demo (puncture repair, route planning and more)

Want to know how to repair a puncture yourself, or plan a safe route to work? Then the Get into Gear Demonstrations could be perfect for you. The sessions involve demonstrations from qualified mechanics and cycle instructors in areas such as: step-by-step puncture repair, route planning, including making best use of cycle paths and cycle lanes.
